Coconut Grove Steel Drum Duo.

Specializing in wedding cocktail hours, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries,
birthdays, pool parties, barbecues and restaurants.

coconut2:

Scott Paulson and Barbara Smith deliver the islands to you with their Caribbean Steel Drum duo. The joy these two find in performing music comes through in their upbeat style, whether they are performing traditional Trinidadian steel pan tunes, or calypso and pop favorites.

Their show consists of Scott on lead tenor steel pan, and Barbara on double second pans. They play over background accompaniments which the pair have painstakingly recorded for this purpose. The result is a full lush sound created by only two people. This is the perfect choice when space, volume or finances are a concern. Scott and Barbara both hold B.A.'s in music and have had years of experience performing professionally.

ScottBarb: "The entertainment this past Saturday exceeded expectations! Having attended numerous events where a disc jockey wants to be the center of attention or a rock band blares so loudly that no conversation can be held, the steel drums are the answer. The guests at the birthday party enjoyed the upbeat rhythm and sound of the music you and Barbara provided and you received many compliments. If you ever need a recommendation, please feel to contact me, as I am now one of your biggest boosters. Again, thank you for a talented professional performance!" - Bob Mongan
- Rye Beach, NH

"Hi Scott, just a quick note to thank you for the great music at our wedding - it was so good of you to be available on such a messy driving night. Lots of our guests complimented us on your music, and I appreciated it that people could still have convesations while you were playing. Take care - we will call again someday!" - Deb Allen
- Wedding, Starry Night Cafe, Vergennes, VT.

"Coconut Grove was great and easy to work with. I wish I could have hear more of the steel drums (a little hard between the pictures and commotion once we got into the cocktail hour) but what I heard sounded great and people loved them!" - Pete Spencer
- Stowhof Wedding, Stowe, VT.
